Pacesetter = Hills

SMS received

Fara: "Nana yikez i xfully recover lg laa...alamak nana how abt u tomoro?"

I was at Lynn's hen party (which I will write a post about it later) when I received that sms. Jantungku seperti mahu meletup! (okay im exaggerating)...

Fara is my pacesetter for all my long distance run. As I posted earlier, I run better with someone besides me. I tend to slack/berhenti jalan if I run alone. I guess my mental is not that strong after all.

So when I received her msg saying that she cant make it for the race, for a minute there I was contemplating.

"Should I run tomorrow or not?"

"I can just chill here and keep partayyinnggg for that matters"

"But I have already paid RM50"

Text-ed booTak to inform him about the news only to realise that I can actually do it. Haih why la I need somebody to give me re-assurance!

"U can, I know you can"

So I decided what the heck. Lari je la. Say goodbye to all the girls at the party and go back at almost 12pm. Yes i know. I probably missed the lap dancers cause he will only show up at 1am. *sigh*. So yeah I did go back, sour - hearted.

I woke up at almost 6am the next day. Rushed to Padang Merbuk and when I arrived I saw Kak Haza (the famous running mom) with her camera. and a man besides her shouted

"Faster, ladies will start in 2 mins"

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.......

Maka saya berspeedy gonzales ke starting line bersama Harizal yang juga lambat and when I almost reached the starting line, the flock has already been released. Damn!!! Maka menyelit di lautan manusia dan melompat masuk ke kandang and off me go. Started the race without proper stretching what not. Thus, I anticipate Im gonna have uneasy run afterwards

I dont know whether it is an advantage or cons if your race route is the route that you always run for your LSD or daily short run. Seriously. Because when you know the route so well, you tend to slack.

"Ah, lepas ni ada bukit so boleh jalan la lepas ni"
"Okay cun, lepas jalan kaki lepas ni leh lari laju sbb turun bukit gila tinggi"

So, I take it as a cons. Because I walked most of the time. Hahhaahhah....too many hills la. I malas. Pacesetter always like to create route yang sangat banyak hills schmills. I no likey okie.

To be honest, I almost wanted to quit even before the race start. It was a tiring weekend. Saturday went for groceries shopping, late lunch with booTak, lynn Hen party, slept at almost 2 and woke up at 6am. So that morning when Farah bbm me asking whether ill be running or not, for a minute there I thought of saying no will give me the satisfaction. I can continue my much needed sleep and have a gooday Sunday. But no, Im a runner and these kind of hindrance wont stop me. ewahhhhhhhh

So, these are the things that I like about the 15KM NB:
  • The most friendly volunteers and marshall. Theres one uncle, really friendly. I asked him wheres the nearest water station. He said "ah very near already, after the traffic light. Make sure you drink enuff okay" Awwwwww...so sweet.
  • Location nearby my house. Hehehe..if its at Bukit Jalil ke, Shah Alam ke for sure saya sudah tidak pergi menyertai kerana saya bangun lambat
  • Nice medal. I love it
  • The awesome Tau-F00-Fah

Things that I dont like:

  • Panaasssssssssss!! rasa mau pengsan wooo
  • Erm itu je yang tak suka

All in all I like it. Even though i was little bit struggling but tis' okay. This is a real wake up call for me that I can never improve my PB for 21km if my training method continues as the way it is now. *sigh* I need to join Boot Camp for that matters.
