Common Mistakes People Make with GPS and Cell Phones

I received this email from my boss this morning and it makes me thinking and at the end thanking Allah for not having GPS (eventhough I have to say GPS does helps when you are clueless)

Kindly read this....

With all the new electronic technology - this experience gives all of us something to think about.

GPS:

A couple of weeks ago a friend told me that someone she knew had their car broken-into while they were at a Football game.
Their car was parked on the green which was adjacent to the football stadium and specially allotted to football fans. Things stolen from the
car included:
- a garage door Remote Control,
- some money and
- a GPS which had been prominently mounted on the dashboard.
When the victims got home, they found that their house had been ransacked and just about everything worth anything had been stolen.

1. The thieves had used the GPS to guide them to the house.
2. They then used the Garage Remote Control to open the garage door and gain entry to the house.
3. The thieves knew the owners were at the football game, they knew what time the game was scheduled to finish and so they knew how much time they had to clean out the house.
4. It would appear that they had brought a truck to empty the house of its contents.

Something to consider if you have a GPS -
don't put your home address in it. Put a nearby address (like a store or gas station) so you can still find your way home if you need to, but
no one else would know where you live if your GPS were stolen.

MOBILE PHONES
Hurm, I never thought of this.......

This lady has now changed her habit of how she lists her names on her mobile phone after her handbag was stolen.
Her handbag, which contained her cell phone, credit card, wallet... Etc...was stolen.
20 minutes later when she called her husband from a Pay Phone telling him what had happened, he said 'I received your text asking about our Pin Number and I've replied a little while ago.'

When they rushed down to the Bank, their money was already withdrawn. The thief had actually used the stolen cell phone to text 'Hubby' in the Contact List and got hold of the Pin Number.. Within 20 minutes he had withdrawn considerable amount of money from their Bank Account.

Moral of the lesson:
Do not disclose the relationship between you and the people in your Contact List.
Avoid using names like Home, Honey, Hubby, Sweetheart, Dad, Mom, etc....
(yah, i know some may have smiles on their faces when 'Sweetheart' appears on your phone)

And very importantly, when sensitive info is being asked through texts, CONFIRM by calling back.

Also, when you're being text by friends or family to meet them somewhere, be sure to call them back to Confirm that the Message came from them. If you don't reach them, be very careful about going places to meet 'family and friends' who text you.

Deal: Comida "The Way You Like It" is...

Another friday to went through before the weekend, and we were wondering where should we head out for lunch.

My first thought, lets browse some deals should there be any...

Found one!

50% off on food and drinks at Comida, Solaris Dutamas, pay RM20 instead of Rm40 for Gourmet food "The Way We Like It"

Ahhhhh cheap

Lets buy...

Done, so 12.30 we head straight to Comida

ahhhhhh parking was easy at this hour, probably because it was at Block D. Not so high on occupancy just yet

[the interior]

It is a small restaurant that promotes range of Tex-Mex food including variation of Italian food. Comida is actually the brainchild of Basil, a food enthusiast who dreamed of owning a succesful chain of restaurant. The menu is quite wide spread, so it is all up to you to make your choice

They also have some lunch promo starting from Rm16.90 (with complimentary soup and ice lemon tea)

But being greedy, we ordered extra drinks. Heeee...

[ the almost finish comida soup]

Its actually a pumpkin soup. Miza didnt quite like the taste, it is quite distinct and somehow were lacking in the salt department

So the food that we ordered:

Me: Seafood Paella
Miza: BBQ Chicken Pizza
Ina: Hell's pizza
Mr Ir: Fried Steak

Yumssssss.....

And so we waited...

Tick tock tick tock

After 30 minutes still no sign of our food.

*sigh*

You see, one thing about me is I am the type of person who treasures time, and waiting for food in the restaurant for unappropriate amount of time is not considered acceptable to me.

*double sigh*

After almost 45 minutes, the pizza arrived. Thank good for the crunchy thin crust that almost crack in your mouth when you bite it as well as lovely topping. That kinda justify the waiting time

*sorry no pic of pizza, so hungry already*

But I certainly cant say the same for my seafood paella and Mr Ir's Fried steak. It did not worth the wait, so to speak. The paella was too salty and the rice was a little bit hard.

And his fried steak was so-so. I'd give it 5.5/10

[Seafood Paella: RM35.90]

*again sorry no pic of fried steak. heeee....*

They are still new I think, so I might give it a try again for JUST the pizza. But not sure whether I can wait that long.

Hurm.....

Deal, deal, deal

Okay,
The 'deal phenomena' is back

As I surf those sites that provide good deals religously, I always managed to purchase good deals at an extremely discounted price.

Today,
I bought one pretty good deal

RM37 instead of RM655 for a Top Level Domain Name + 2GB Hosting plan for 1 year

cool eeyy?

I need this for my future project
Lets hope that the project will run smoothly as planned

Amin....

[the payment page]

Did I tell you that I am now hooked to buying deals online. Its pretty cheap I must say. The one that I will always try to search everyday will be deals on food...duhhh. For a peanut price I get to dine at fine dining restaurant like Tanzini and stuff. Oh review on Tanzini soon. Stay tuned [sigh, what am I thinking, is there such person who cant wait to read my blog?]

[done deal. pfftttt ayat bankers]

[pretty awesome deal]

To those who planned to open up small scale businesses online, this is definitely a must get for you. Think about it

You have 2 more days to be exact

Living up to the expectations

Have you ever feel that sometimes your life is all about living up to expectations? well not yours but others.

Is it bad if you feel such way?

Thats what I feel now. I feel that whatever I did, will never live up to people's expectations.
Theres always a 'but' in their sentences...

Person A: "I can give you this much but I expect you to work harder than ever. Prove to us that you deserve this"
Me: "Okay"

Person B: "I cannot be the only person to untangle your dainty emotions; you have to as well"

Me: *pregnant pause*

Person C: "This is lower than what I expected from you. I know maybe you think you've done your best but its not enough"
Me: *clueless*

These are just among the 3 incidents that occured this week. This is not an exhaustive list. As rightly pointed out by Person C where she's aware than I have done my best yet not enought, it makes me wonder can people ever be satisfied with whatever they have/received in their life?

I aint no angel, Im not perfect but at least I know im not stupid

Its tiring when you are living a life where you are not your own priority anymore, its others. I have once live a life where I care shitless for others. My only priority is my ownself and I was happy that time. Sounded selfish but at least I am not miserable.

Here when I am trying to make a change and to act for a greater good not just for me but also for people surrounds me, I failed. and boy i failed miserably.

I know life its not fair, I get it but somehow I feel fair is too subjective for us to even understand. Whats fair for me may not be fair for others; vice versa. I feel it is not fair if you blurt out whatever things that you believe, feel or even think only to realise that it is going to bite you back in the end. I'd rather keeping it to myself but this will bring no good to me as it will give an accumulative impact to my own feelings

So, who will you choose?

Your own self or others?

Greetings

Okay, maybe I am a little bit too late for this, nonetheless it is always appropriate to just wish it somehow.

As a Muslim, we celebrated our new year yesterday, yesterday marked the arrival of new year in our Islam Calendar.

Well, there is not much if celebration here in this land, as this country is no longer known as the country that embrace Islam as its main religion. Sad, because we are so nearby; us and them.
There's not even a public holiday but I figured muslims here dont really mind as some of them dont even realize it was Awal Muharram yesterday

I would like to draw your attention to some of interesting facts that I feel act as hindrance to the development of Islam here. Well at least development to serve the basis of living here....

Here, it is very expensive to obtain a 'halal-certificate' from its significant authority. Im not too sure why it is expensive but yah it happened. As rightly pointed out by my cousin who stays here with her PR certs, thats the reason why most restaurants especially hawker stall wish not to adhere to it and expand their market, as they thought it wont necessarily break even their cash register.

Secondly, most of the organisation here do not pay adequate attention to the needs of performing prayer. Eventhough muslim comprises of at least (safely say; maybe more) 20% of the communities here, there is no facilities such as surau especially at high end places as well as main attraction/places here.

Hence the reason I find it difficult to basically love this country. Well besides the extremely low crime rate which I like and the safety for women to basically wonder around at 12.00midnight without having any fear, I feel i cant survive in this country. or maybe I can. Haih we'll see.

Till then

I like reading blogs but when I read mine, I think I just dont have it. Im not cut out to be a brilliant writer. Since I was in the Khmer Land when he celebrated his birthday, so the belated celebration that is from me. After google-ing a few restaurants suggested by my foodie GPS i.e Ida, I chose this restaurant...
Yah
Sassorosso that is. One Italian restaurant located right smack in the middle of the city centre. With view overlooking the Twin Towers, it was awesome.

being a smoker he is, we chose the outside spot for our dinner. Not so many customers that night, only a bunch of aunties were outside talking about their favorite American Idol contestant.
*sigh*
Kacau je....

The night started with a complimentary basket of bread which we quickly indulge in about few seconds. Hehehe...lapar okie...if only the bread was a little bit warmer. Okay, nuff complaints from me.

* the basket of bread

Then came our appetizer for the night, some Grilled Scallops with cream sauce. (i think thats the name of the meal. see, I can never be a foodie. I cant even remember the dish name let alone review it in a manner reviewer always does)

* scallop something something

The last 3 date that we went, he always ordered duck. I dont know why. Seriously. But since birthday boy layan kan je la kan. So he ordered this, Duck breast and confit which he said it was better than Cafe Cafe. Hurmmm....

* his duck confit

As for me, initially I was so tempted to try the Aglio Olio Pasta with Lobster but they did not print the price on the menu. So pura2 interested to order it only to find out that it actually cost RM280++ per dishes. Whatttttt........terus zassss cancel! Apekahhhhh smp begitu sekali regenyer...

As a replacement, I had this instead...

* Seafood Casserole with Mussels, Clams, Squid and Giant Prawn

It was rather okay-okay je la kan. Should have ordered any pasta dishes.

The night ended with 2 scoops of ice cream and one satisfaction smile from boo.

:)
Happy Birthday booTak

Joyeux Anniversaire à Moi: Cafe Cafe KL

Le meilleur anniversaire jamais...
I was blessed with a thoughtful man in my life
For the effort made despite crazy schedule and long list of 'To Do' in his organizer
Merci beaucoup le chéri

So we went to Cafe Cafe yesterday,
Thou at first I really bought his lie that we are going to some Ikan Bakar place
At first I was like "aaa, ikan bakar ke?"
But nonetheless, off we go to Stadium Merdeka area kekdahnya...

But when we passed the turn to Stadium Merdeka, he did not take it
Hurm this is fishy fishy...
But I decided to just wait and see
Until we reached to this one dodgy street..and I was like errrr....pi mana ni
He kept smiling until we reached one restaurant and wallaaaa...
simplement stupéfiant

We were at Cafe Cafe rupanya.

A very romantic place with nice and cozy ambiance. Candles everywhere...and fresh flowers too. We were seated and there was the menu...full of names that I cant even pronounce.
Hahahahha...

Nonetheless we ordered these...

I Think Its About Time...

I am a person who never like a smoker, smoke or anything associated with it
And I dunt think I will change
AT ALL

Some say you can never understand why people smoke if you don't smoke as well
Well I DID TRY (pengakuan hebat)
and trust me its not just one puff, i did for one whole week
To really experience and know what kind of feeling smoking can give me

Well, I failed
At least to realise that smoking can release any level of stress or give me any booster to any sort of stuff
So in my diary smoking is just one stick full of nicotine that not only can burn your wallet but also burn your life.

But when I know I have to be there for someone who wants to quit smoking, little that I know it takes more than "you have to stop smoking" nagging bit.
I always thought that by giving a 'tough-love' kind of support, this smoker can actually be threatened and will quit on their own

WRONG!!!

It takes more than that.
Patience, strong will power (not just for them but you as well) and it is not an exhausted list

Here are some tips that I read from CHANTIX website. CHANTIX is actually a varenicline tablet that helps person to quit smoking

Your Quit-Smoking Role:

You might already know what it’s like when a smoker is trying to quit. It can be a difficult time. And while you can’t force anyone to quit, when the time is right, you can provide encouragement when they need it. Here’s what you can do:

Know that the beginning can be tough – The first few weeks during a smoker's quit can be the toughest. Try to create a stress-free environment whenever possible.

Focus on the positives rather than the negatives – Most smokers already know that smoking is bad for them and that they need to quit. Instead of telling them what they need to do, try to focus on their achievements. Tell them you're proud of them as often as you can, and support them with encouraging messages if they slip up.

Never tell a smoker they can have "just one" – No matter how much a smoker is tempted to smoke, or how challenged they may feel, you should not encourage them to smoke for any reason. Doing so may make it harder for them in the long run.

Provide support whenever possible – There are many things you may be able do help boost a smoker's confidence in their ability to quit:

  • Tell them that you're proud of their progress.
  • Offer to take breaks or walks.
  • Help them celebrate quit anniversaries.
  • Limit their exposure to cigarettes, especially if you are a smoker yourself.
  • Ask them if there's anything you can do to help.
  • If they slip up, encourage them not to give up.

Encourage them to speak to their doctor – Their doctor knows their medical history and can play an important role in helping them get the proper treatment.

Remember. Be patient and supportive. The smoker you are going to try to help is facing what is potentially one of the greatest challenges of their life. And give yourself a pat on the back, too. Helping someone get started on the road to quitting smoking is one of the best things you can do for their health.

So, im telling you its not easy, but its worth it.
Go to CHANTIX for more details
