[Trippin']: Chicago Broadway @ NYC

Okay,
Lets continue the NYC journey. On the final day of our course, we've decided to do whats best to do in New York at night

Broadwayyyy!!!

After failed attempt to get affordable tickets for Mamma Mia and Wicked (its always sold out. No joke im telling you), we secured ourselves Chicago Broadway tickets. Registered meself at http://www.playbill.com/ and managed to get some affordable tickets with good seats. Ticket cost me USD97 and I bought it online. Theres an option for those who has so much free time in the afternoon and a risk taker where they can purchase their tickets from the TKTS booth located nearby Olive Garden restaurants. But since I am a risk adverse person with great persuasive skills, we bought our tickets online. Easyy whatt!!!!

[Times Sq at night. Scene that I usually watched in TV only. hehehhehe. blessed for the opportunity]

Chicago is a musical based on the play by the same name by reporter Maurine Dallas Watkins, assigned to cover the 1924 trials of murderesses Beulah Annan and Belva Gaertner for the Chicago Tribute. Better not spoil it for those who has yet to watch it, so i jumped to the review

It was nice but probably my mind was still on Mamma Mia. I really wanted to watch Mamma Mia thus I kinda put high expectations on Chicago. It did meet my expectations but it did not wow me. Cheewaahhhh

But if you are into adultery, sex related scene then this is ur musical hehhehhee

[had hot chocs at Cofee Beene before the show. Pound cake was delicious]

[in front of the theater]

[with the usual suspects in NYC]

[the Ambassador Theater]

You see, the broadway here is pretty much like London scene. One theater for one play for all year long. They have around 150 theather here in NYC for Broadway, Off Broadway and Play

[nice...]

[the stage]

The broadway lasted for 2 hours and 30 minutes and we ran straight to Olive Garden restaurant for food later as I was starving! Had fettucini carbonara with Shrimp and Breadstix. Breadstix was delicious, cant say the same for pasta

No picture since too hungry

so okay, thats it

[Trippin']: New York City

I think Ill start with the most NYC tourist attraction that I managed to squeeze time to go to. By squeeze I meant it. We had the chance to go to the Empire State Building, skyscrapper with 102-th floor. It is located at the intersection of 5th Avenue and West 24th Street.

Currently this remains as the tallest building in the New York city since the World Trade Center is undergoing the rebirth project after the 9/11 attacks.

Entrance fee is USD34 to the 86th floor of the building. You can upgrade yourself to the 102-th floor for another USD17 but I decided nahhh I am no King Kong to begin with so no need to go that high lah

[the line to get in, empty at night. ermmm midnight actually]

[learning some new facts about the building]

[my foot steps into the building]

[did I mention King Kong just now?]

[used to be the tallest. but not now la kan]

[views from the above]

50cents for the teropong

So yah thats about it. The tour lasted for a good one hour. At 1.15 am I am ready to go back and zzzzzz

NYC

5 more days till departure and booTak's visa is still pending. chances that it wont get through is probably higher than it will. what a bummer

Going to NYC, I have mixed feelings. Pretty excited that I finally has the chance to go to the states but going without him will be not be as jolly as I thought it would. *sigh*

I blame it all on the embassy

For now I have tonnes of reading on bank stuff and surveying on things to do as accomodations. Those that I reserved earlier wont cut it as I am running on a tighter budget now that booTak is not going.

Whatever it is I am still going to DC Cupcakes stores at SoHo. Tak kira

Ouh ya and Dylan's candy store
