This girl

Alexis Faith Gosselin...

Yah, she's one of the sextuplets from the two sets of multiples
Of the Gosselin family
The Gosselin family is on the air for the TV reality
"Jon & Kate Plus 8"

Everytime I saw her on TV
it managed to bring such a great smile to me
The way she smile, the way she laugh...
I tell you watching her make myself feel like wanting to be a kid again
Hehehe...

But when I read the recent story about the break out of the family affair...
Its devastating...
With the most cute kids (The Twins and The Sextuplets of course)
How can you have a problem?
Hurm...

My Wish (for) A Great Life Ahead

Today is a special day for me,
I wake up today with such a great smile; knowing that it is going to be a fine day,
Not only I have been blessed for still having the chance to experience Ramadhan again,
I have been blessed with a loving family, loving friend and also a loving special someone

Allow me to talk about the importance of having a great friend in your life,
"Friend in need is a friend indeed"

A version of this proverb was known by the 3rd century BC. Quintus Ennius wrote: 'Amicu certus in re incerta cernitur'. This translates from the Latin as 'a sure friend is known when in difficulty'.

The Oxford Dictionary of Quotations lists it as existing in English from the 11th century. The earliest version I can find is from Caxton's Sonnes of Aymon, 1489:

"It is sayd, that at the nede the frende is knowen."

The morality play Everyman also contains similar lines. The play's date is uncertain and scholars place it as 'late 15th century', which could be before Caxton's work:

Fellowship: Sir, I say as I will do in deed.
Everyman: Then be you a good friend at need;

In my search for a great friends, I happened to run into 'not-so-great' friends...
Well, Im telling you the above category is a lot
Seriously...
A Lot...

I have been blessed with 2 great friends,
We might not bitching about others 24hrs a day on the phone,
Or
we might not have the privilege to ber-coffee every now and then (thou I hate coffee, but I like the idea of ber-coffee)
But we know for sure that we are great to each other

On another slightly related matter,
Some said you just cant have it both,
A great friend and a great love
If you happen to have a great friends (you may not experience great love)

Well, I tend to disagree on this
Because to me...
"One great love can be one great friend"
and its works otherwise
Believe it or not your great friend can be your great love
and the love may not be in BF-GF form...
it can be great love in general

So, treasure your great love and your great friends
Because without them, you are nothing

My Wish (for) No Paranoia

As the days of our H1N1 mayhem is now over, I couldn’t help but wonder. How great a plan can be but with the absence of great execution, it will be futile

In banking system (and I believe so does others), we believe in having a great or at least good back up plan called Business Continuity Plan (“BCP”). So in the event, any hazardous, unexpected disaster happen, the system will continue as how it always is.

Sad to say, though we always emphasize banks to adhere to it, unfortunately we as the mother bank is not up to par to what expected.

With lack of official communication to the affected staff, the ABSENCE of ‘step-by-step’ action on what to do next, we were left puzzled. Being the one person that will always panic if I don’t know what’s going on surrounding me, I have to admit I almost went crazy with the paranoia in me.

“What if I have the virus in me?”
“Can I spread the virus even if I stand next to the other person?”

And these 2 are just the beginning of my endless list of questions with no definite answers

Don’t get me started with the quarantine process. It was unbearable!

One moment you received a message
“Due to your close contact with A****, you are required to work from home starting 12 August 09 till 18 August 09”

and a day after that, you received a call – “You are no longer required to be quarantine”

Huh?

Even a small boy know the period of quarantine must be at least 3 days (so then you are certain whether or not you are the host of the deadly disease)

I know it is crucial to finish up all works in time (accounts have to be announced soon, consolidation of borrowers need analysis and result has to be done ASAP).

But, isn’t someone’s health is more important than that?

Hurm…

The uncertainty drove me almost insane. I have never been this paranoid before in my life…
I hope for this H1N1 situation to be over soon…
Me with face mask is so not sexy at all

My Wish (for) Health and The Good Ol Times

No more quarantine time
I hope they made a right decision by that...
So far, I have not develop/experience any related symptom i.e Influenza Like - Ilness (ILI)
It has been 4 days since that close contact days
I hope it is true that the virus did not font me to be their 'perumah'

Temp checked done this morning shows 36.4 dgr
Its sounds right
Wearing the mask at all time and when u walked past people and people tend to 'run and hide' when they see you,
Not amusing at all
I feel ignored!!!

**sigh**
whatever that is, I hope for this chaos to end soon
Im jaded!!

Ouh ya,
The conversation I had with ina this morning leads me into one thought
of your favourite boy band ever
Hhahahaha
Every girl has one
Those who said
"I dont listen to boy band at all"
OR
"Boy bands are not cool"

TIPUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!

Every girl has their own fav boy band where they dream one of them would be their husband
and sometimes even try to imagine how does it feel to become a boy band's star girlfriend
Ekkekekeke
Well mine is

I love him

YES

I LOVE HIM....

and i love this song in particular

When the visions around you,
Bring tears to your eyes
And all that surround you,
Are secrets and lies
I'll be your strength,
I'll give you hope,
Keeping your faith when it's gone
The one you should call,
Was standing here all along..
And I will take
You in my arms
And hold you right where you belong
Till the day my life is through
This I promise you
This I promise youI've loved you forever,
lifetimes before
And I promise you never...
Will you hurt anymoreI give you my wordI give you my heart (give you my heart)
This is a battle we've won
And with this vow,
Forever has now begun...
Just close your eyes (close your eyes)
Each loving day (each loving day)
I know this feeling won't go away (no..)
Till the day my life is through
This I promise you..
This I promise you..

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Im sure some of you now has a smile on their face
Esp hang elly...

My Wish (for) The Bridge

Okay,
So with 106 days left for Penang Bridge International Marathon,
and with fasting month as well as festive season arriving soon...
I couldnt help but wonder
What kind of training for half marathon can be done?

So, with fasting month (means I can only run at night after terawih...and I cant run much except on treadmill since running alone at night is DANGEROUS!!)
and festive season...aiyoyoyo....rendang, ketupat and stuff
Hurmmm...

HELP HELP!!!!

I need a training plan

As this will be my first half marathon (am I being too ambitious for wanting to try the distance?)
I am PETRIFIED!!!

Coupled with the fact that 21km (Men) will begin 15mins earlier than women

Aiyoyoyoyoyo
means this fella will run earlier than me....

* booTAK at finishing line. I searched all over for my picture. TAKDE PUN!!!!!
anyone who sees runner with bib number F868, please holla me

erm....how yeah
As my first attempt to run alone during adidas KOTR turned out to be a big failure
I so need a strategy, plan and backup plan now...

YELPPP!!!!!!!

The Rest Is Still Unwritten...

On my way to work today
(and yesterday)
As I was listening to the radio

The DJ played this song...
I know this is quite an archaic songs...
Nonetheless,
I feel something when I listened to it...

I break tradition, sometimes my tries, are outside the lines
We've been conditioned to not make mistakes, but I can't live that way

Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find

Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin

No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips

Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins

The rest is still unwritten...

So stop yourself from hesitation,
Dont second guess yourself,
You are what you believe you are
and the most important stuff

Do something that works best for you, NOT OTHERS!

RIP: Gary Leon Robert

As i read few of my favourite running blog yesterday about one missing runner,
I never thought it would end up with this:

Missing runner found dead

2009/08/04

SHAH ALAM: The mystery of the missing Shah Alam Adidas Marathon runner who did not return home after completing his run on Sunday was answered when the police K-9 unit found his body a day later at a tunnel at the Shah Alam Stadium.

The body of 22-year-old Gary Leon Robert, a Universiti Tenaga Nasional student, was found at 1.05pm yesterday almost 24 hours after his father, Marry Robert lodged a police report at the Section 11 police station here. Shah Alam deputy police chief Superintendent M. Chandra, when contacted, said the father had lodged a missing person's report at the police station at about 4pm on Sunday. He said police officers spent the whole morning searching for Gary at the stadium but their search was unfruitful."The K-9 unit was then brought in at noon to look for the victim.

I was so shocked when I read it,
And only to found out that he was from Uniten, I was shocked even mor
Meaning, he was my junior (or maybe I already left when he entered Uniten)
At the age of 22,
He could be on his way to graduate this year
Too young, too soon...

As i search for more details about what really happened,
I read a whole lots of different stories on whats going on...
From a few different blogs
But I think to respect the family of the late Gary,
Let it just be on what reported in the newspaper rather than speculating on what we dont know

I dont know Gary personally
But to know that one of the runner from the race and one runner from 1malaysia is now no longer with us,
its really sad...

To Gary Leon Robert's family;
and to anyone who know him
My deepest condolences to all of you
May he rest in peace...

To all runners out there;
- Before any race, do check your body capability. and race with no stress
- To all girls out there, run with friends if its possible. You will never know what may happen.

My Wish (for) More and More Changes in Life

Its amazing how changes reflect my life...
If some of you might notice,
My blogs is somehow has slowly revolutionize from a casual leisure kind of blogs where the usual content will be what I do, did and a little bit of some juicy 'melodi' gossip
TO
still has the former content but has been spiced up with a little bit of my latest passion now

RUNNING

With this new concept embedded into my blog,
Ive seen some decrease in trend of viewers of my blog
Maybe not all keen to read about running (melodi gossip is way better)
Nevermind...
:)

Anyway, review about adidas King of The Road 2009
02.03.2009

As usual, pre-race preparation took place seadanya
Little bit of yoga session (for flexibility)
The carbo-loading (pasta,pasta and pasta)
Sleep....zzzZZzzZzzzZzZzz

* my number for the race...(nice number kan)

Arrived at Stadium Shah Alam at 6.40am. Since the 22KM run has started, we were diverted to outside of stadium traffic by the police traffic. shoot…quickly parked at shoplots and slow jog to the starting line.scanning for Raz as well but no luck. Shoot, does this means I have to run on my own? yeiks…

Arrived at the starting point, went to the reporting point, and exchanged the reporting card with a black bangle. The ‘registration’ process was rather smooth (at least to me). When we went inside, the starting cage has already been filled up. Yeiks…still scanning at the right side of the kandang, still no Raz…OMG…how ni….I was pretty nervous when I cannot spot Raz, this means I have to run alone this time. haiyaa…

2mins before the gun time. Again, I have to run 11km with no proper warm up (like SCKLM)…I didn’t do any stretching at all. I have a feeling this will bite me in the end. Haih…what to do…no time la…and as I was talking and wishing booTAK luck for his run, then “POOOM” the gun has been fired by Selangor Chief Minister. Then off we go…

I ran with my mp3 player still on my hand (earphone wire was everywhere) and after almost 1km run I realised something

*
*
*
*
*
*

SHOOT!!! (red font indicates DANGER!)

I forgot to set my running time.
haiyo…how la ni.
Knowing it was too little too late to set it, ive decided to just run based on normal time and try to do some math later on how fast my pacing will be. (FYI, when I run, I might do some simple math blunder like 42km-35km = 6km to go. APAKAHHHH!!!!)

After the roundabout and the long hill towards whatever jalan name is that, I realized something again. Why is that I didn’t experienced the breath chaos as usual? Am I going too slow? This cannot be happening!!!
So I quickly squeeze my way through the crowd and the moment when the road became ‘menurun’ I was hit by a man who ran as if like he only has 200m and another man in front of him. So you do the math on how fast he was running that time. I almost fell tau!!!! Membencikan.

With no sorry from him I continued my run with 70% of my spirit has been diluted like the 100plus water we drank at the water station. So I was like “whatever, just finish the race la”, then again I realized something…eh how far to go ni?

*
*
*
*
*
*

NO DISTANCE MARKER AT ALL… (eh ke saya yang tak nampak)

So again I was forced to do some math calculation, errm..ive passed 2 water station means approximately 5km la kot yek? look at my watch (7.35am, maka konsepnya 7.35am – 7.00am = 35mins)
7mins per KM? aiyoooo so lambat…but I guess I was too disappointed and got carried away with the frustration after being hit by the guy I decided to just run with the current pace. Whatever!!

Jalan jalan a little bit (ouuu I walked a lot this time) then I reached another roundabout which I don’t know whats the name of the roundabout (obviously). and being a person who are not at all familiar with Shah Alam road, again I cannot estimates how far more I have to run. haih…..whatever!!! (I said too many whatever during this race)
Then I saw 2 girls with sequence number ran together.
Awwwww…..I miss having a running partner. That time the thought of booTAK has finished his race and waiting for me at the finishing line crossed my mind.

*
*
*
*
*
*

I CANNOT LET HIM DOWN!!! (again, red font indicates DANGER)

Look at my watch again,
8.10am!
Too little too late to finish in 70mins.
So I ran my lung out when I saw the bumbung of the stadium (I predict it is still far to reach the stadium) but I couldn’t care less.
I ran and ran and ran and without me realizing it I was in the tunnel already.
Entered the stadium and

SHOOOOOT!!

Kena buat satu round ke baru finish?
Heck no…the finishing line is THERE. (nasib baik)
as I was running I heard one familiar voice!!
Its HIM!!!!
We high five-ed and I crossed the finishing line and received the Qualifier Medal and certificates. YEAYYYY!!!!!!!! (yellow font indicates happines)

* The back view of my medal

* My medal and the certificates

All in all it was a good run
Water supply was enough at the water station
The road was not really hilly
But still, running alone was not really an enjoyable experience

With 2++ more months to Penang Bridge International Marathon, I believe I am up for the challenge!

Highlights during the race:
- met few new friends during race. But forgot to exchange contact info. But how la kan...
- saw Haza - Running Mom at the finishing line. She ran 22km. Did I tell you that I LOVE HER BLOG!
- booTAK finished the race with 105th place! Awesome
